We exist because the standard wasn’t good enough.

Heart Out Media was born from lived experience – and a firm belief that disability, chronic illness and medical communities deserve media that actually reflects their lives. We create publications, podcasts, video and social content that leads with real stories, because the people living them are the real experts.

Everything we make is built on hope, connection and heart.

Our team

Melanie Dimmitt

CEO & Editorial Director

Melanie knows this world from the inside. When her first child was born with profound disability, she went looking for resources that felt human, hopeful and honest – and came up mostly empty. So she made them herself.

Since then, she's built a body of work that’s changed the conversation: founding The Blend, the world's only tube-feeding and TPN lifestyle magazine, writing Special, her internationally acclaimed book on parenting a child with disability, and creating and hosting the NDIS Know-how and Tubie Talks podcasts.

An award-winning author, journalist and caregiver advocate, Melanie has written for The Age, Sydney Morning Herald and Broadsheet, and appeared on The Project, ABC Radio National and Today Extra – among many others.

At Heart Out Media, she leads with the same conviction that’s driven everything else: that these stories deserve to be told beautifully.

Luisa Gidaro

Luisa is the person who makes things work. With 15+ years across media, ecommerce, investment management and membership organisations – and roles spanning operations, finance, marketing, partnerships and beyond – she has the rare ability to see a business from every angle and translate complexity into clear next steps.

As founder of Sella Consulting, she's spent years helping creative founders build the systems and foundations that let great work scale. At Heart Out Media, she brings that same approach – fewer fires, more flow and growth that feels sustainable.
